Lise uses meditation to manage pain and anxiety.
Transcript
I’ve been doing this for like I said three years I’ve been in the heart failure and I swear to God I’m learning slowly. In the hospital whenever they put IVs in, they couldn’t get the IVs in me. And so they go back and forth, back and forth and there’s one time where they were on their fifth time and I finally said to the woman stop. I said ‘Stop.’ I said ‘Let me put in my ear buds and listen to some meditation.’ And I said ‘When you see calmness come over my face, put it in.’
And so all of a sudden, I get this little tap on my hand and she’s like ‘OK, it’s in.’ And she thanked me, and she said ‘Thank you so much for like calming down because it made it easier.’ So I learned that. I take my earphones everywhere. I take them everywhere now so that if I’m having a point where I’m not feeling – where I’m feeling anxious, or I’m feeling frustrated, or I’m in pain then I can put my earphones in and do my meditation.
